Data Disappear

Hello Support,

I have an issue that the user initiate an instance , validate them and fill data , the issue that those data are suddenly disappear from the web interface and when I check the instance parameters , I have found that those parameters undefined.

Anyway is this issue happened due to a platform update that was made on their platform?


P.S : End user had created this query on 06-18-2014 05:38 PM and closed the query on 06-26-2014 04:32 PM by sending email to the customer. However, all these actions are not reflecting in the RMP.

Please Advise.

Hello Mosa,

Can you please give us more details about the issue ? Are you having any error on your web interface ? Is your process being launched ? Are you sure you are getting the good parameters in your process ?

Hello Bilal,

sure , Yes I have an error in web interface , the web interface appear empty and blank , it should be filled by customer, also the process launched successfully but it stopped on the previous activity although that this step was already validated by user. some parameters were filled successfully and the other blank.

Hi Mosa,
Can you clear me out certain things so that I can be sure about your error: 
  • Do you have a manual activity in your process and you mean that after filling up the respective fields in your Web Interface,when you submit it and then open the manual screen from process,you cannot see the already filled in field's data.
  • Are you using different input widgets for Launch and Manual screens of your Web Interface.
  • The input fields you are using for Launch Screen,just make them visible and inactive for the Manual Screen.Automatically you can see the filled in data of the Launch screen in your Manual screen.

Yes , this is exactly what was happen,

Are you using different input widgets for Launch and Manual screens of your Web Interface.?

The answer is Yes

please note the instance should be in the next activity"single manage query", now it shows on the previous activity"Validate Request".
Kindly find attached the screenshot that illustrates the above issue

Hi Mosa,

Based on your screenshot, it seems like your process has been triggered by email and not with a Launch screen.
You also mentioned that you were using different fields between your launch screen and the following ones, it's then normal that you can't see what you have typed in in your first screen ...

Hi Mosa,
As said by Gareth,if that is the case,then off course you can't see the data of your Launch screen in Manual screen until you trigger the process with Launch Screen and update the process in Manual screen and also use the same input widgets for both Launch and Manual screen.Then only you can see the data of launch screen in your Manual screen.

But as per your screenshot,what I could get is:
  •  You are using a Manual Task Web Interface and not a Launchable one since you are triggering your process with email.
  •  And when you open your Manual Web Interface and fill the data,the process gets stuck and it does not move forward and you lose your data on reopening it.
If this is the case, then it means:
  • Your Web Interface data disappear because your process is not getting updated on click of button and you are unable to submit those data.It is just getting refreshed every time you open it.
  • The reason behind this could be either your Gateway Condition is wrong or else you are not filling up the mandatory fields in the WI,so only the process is not moving forward to other activities.
Please make sure if this is the case.

Hi Support,

The user initiate the process manually , I have checked the "processed Message" I haven't found any trigger ,

Also the user trying to fill data on this activity " Validate Request" , and fill all mandatory field and then submit , but with no luck.

this is a weird behavior especially that the user initiate more than 20,000 instances on this process successfully.

Hi Mosa,
You need to have a LIVE version of the process for the Email trigger to work.
You don't need to be executing in LIVE mode, just need to have 1 version of the process in LIVE mode.

Steps:
  • Create a version that include this process.
  • Put it to Production.(then, give it a few minutes)
  • Send email to the address - can be with .TEST or .ACCEPTANCE, which will trigger the process in respective modes.
And regarding your second Question, are you using Manual Task Web Interface for the second activity "Validate Request"?
