Hi Support forum,

Trying to "notify via email" on a manual task
Have created my own mail provider - testet it on both TEST and LIVE

Conf.:
smtp://mail.mymailserver.dk:587/ (not real info :-)
Plain
login: user
password: pass

setup for both LIVE, Acceptance and TEST

(Testet my smtp server from another client - it works fine.)

I removed all the ${} stuff in description to keep it simple.

My Process work like normal but no email and i keep getting the following error:
2015-01-15T14:37:06+0000 - Task "Manual task for chef" (id: 1[0] - status: WAITING): Notification failed (Internal Server Error (500) - Invalid Addresses)

Task is assigned to a single user: l...@its-teknik.dk
From field: per...@mymailserver.dk
also tried: "person"<per...@mymailserver.dk>
and just: person

What address is invalid ?

Know about the special case where in TEST mode the initiator always gets the mail...

Regards,
Lars

Hi,
Are you using any id in the "Assign To" field of your manual activity? May be the id is not valid or the provider you have included is not properly configured.Just leave that field empty and check if you are able to get any mail.In this case all the person belonging to the role of the manual activity will get the notification mail in Live mode and only the initiator will get the mail in test mode.Make sure you belong to the role in the manual activity, else you won't be able to trigger the process.

Thanks & Regards

Hi Bidisha,

"Task is assigned to a single user: l...@its-teknik.dk"
I was using the "Assign To" field to a user selected from the dropdownlist. (The initiator)
I tried with a empty "Assign To" field - same error for both LIVE and TEST..

Is it possible to get any debug info on the 500 error ?

Regard,
Lars

Hi
Please make sure that you have configured your mail provider correctly.I guess something is wrong with your provider.

SOLVED:

My own mail provider - is a smtp server with another domain its not my googleAps domain.

GoogleAps: abc.dk
Smtp server xyz.dk

I was trying to:
Notify via email: m...@xyz.dk --to--> ot...@abc.dk (googleApps and runMyProcess user)

Apparently the from user have to be a RunMyProcess user !?

However I could just change the FROM user to an RunMyProcess user and keep my xyz.dk smtp server - it worked - strange that google permits this !?

Link for Setting up mail provider: Does it work for users with Google 2-Step Verification activated ?

Tested with Google 2-Step Verification activated for a user.

It worked - you had to generate an application specific password on your FROM google account.

It worked but...

It would be nice to be able to send from a system/admin account that is not related to a googleApps user.

Why is the FROM field locked like this. Thinking in licenses terms it would not disturb any thing.

Lars
