I can with RMP read the contents of a file (pdf or doc) and get the text or part of and save it in a variable?

Hello Sir,

Good Afternoon.

For simple file i.e. .txt, .csv, .js file, in RMP you can use the "file_content(fileId, algorithm, charset)" method of free marker to view the content of the file in String format.
And .xls file can be read using "read_excel_cells(fileId, cells)" free marker function.

For complex file i.e. .docx, .class, .jpg, pdf this method does not support.

You have to use external API(outside RMP) to convert file content into binary.
You can also use Google drive to read it by API (if file is changed to text-based, or Google-doc).

Hope this will helps you. Please feel free to contact with us for any other query.

Regards,
Ghanshyam Mule
