Happy New Year!
Welcome to a brand new year everyone! Hope you all were able to enjoy the break and have a nice time off to spend with your family and friends! This week RFCF will be partnering with the Benjamin Rush Institute to learn about Complexity Science. Drop on by to have a good time! Benjamin Rush Institute: This Wednesday, January 5th at noon, the Benjamin Rush Institute is partnering with the Rosalind Franklin Christian Fellowship to present "Complexity Science for the Health Professional: Another Arrow in Your Quiver. Use the zoom link below to attend:

Dr. Russell Gonnering, retired oculofacial surgeon, will be speaking on complexity science from the standpoint of free-market healthcare economics. Complexity science is often described as the "science of common sense," or the science of inherent uncertainty. Dr. Gonnering will share insight and advice to students concerning the critical role of the individual in complex adaptive systems--such as large medical and hospital systems--and tools by which the individual physician can make optimal decisions and judgments when facing risk and uncertainty.

Questions: Oftentimes the bible can be confusing. There are sayings or verses that make you stop and go “what?”, and a lot of topics are plainly difficult to understand. For those of you who have any questions about the bible, about God, or a particular topic you just want to know more about, you can submit the questions below and we’ll answer them!

ElderCARE Lake County: ElderCARE is a tremendous organization focused on caring for elders in the community that is currently in need of more volunteers. ElderCARE has many unpaired, isolated elders in need of a companion volunteer, so just one phone call a week from a volunteer like you can make a big and immediate difference in someone's life!
ElderCARE pairs volunteers with an elder who would benefit from interaction, friendship, and companionship. This is a great opportunity for health professions students as this can be done via phone call (or home visits if you are interested), once a week, offering busy students a consistent and convenient opportunity to serve. Attached is all of the necessary training information.
Interested students may apply at ElderCARE's website and should reach out to emma.so...@my.rfums.org (or via GroupMe) so she can ensure your application was received and also answer any questions.
