New ROR release adds 1300+ Crossref Funder IDs

Hi all,

We're pleased to announce that the newest version of ROR registry, release 1.7, adds 1314 Crossref Funder IDs to their corresponding ROR records. See the release notes for more information and to see the list of specific organization records affected, including the University of Zanjan in Iran and the National Synchotron Radiation Research Center in Taiwan. This release represents the beginning of what will be some ongoing work with Crossref to reconcile the ROR registry with the Crossref Funder Registry.

In other news, ROR was well-represented yesterday at the DataCite Member Meeting. Keep an eye on the DataCite blog for recordings of sessions you might have missed, and remember too that DataCite is calling for feedback on its new schema, including a proposal to use ROR IDs as publisher identifiers.
