Hi all,

Release 2.7 of the Research Organization Registry is now available! Release 2.7 adds 783 records and updates 271 records, bringing the total of active, inactive, and withdrawn records in ROR to 125,848. We actually hit the 125,000 milestone in the last release, so let's celebrate that impressive number today, if belatedly.

As always, new and updated records are immediately available in the ROR REST API and can be downloaded from Zenodo at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6347574

Many of you probably already regularly attend our ROR Community Calls, which are a bi-monthly ritual bringing the ROR community together. If you haven't attended, please do!  Our next call is happening next week on Tuesday, May 19th -- register now if you haven't already.
  • Date: May 19, 2026
  • Time: 3pm UTC
  • Duration: 1 hour
At the May edition of the bi-monthly ROR community call, Peter Aspeslagh of ECOOM showcases the Flemish Organization Registry based on the ROR schema, and Jason Portenoy of Crossref discusses the forthcoming implementation of funder name to ROR ID matching in Crossref metadata. The ROR team also gives updates on what we’ve been doing, and participants are invited to ask questions, provide feedback, and give updates on your own work with ROR.

The call will be recorded and the recording and slides shared publicly as well as with registrants, but we do encourage you to attend live so that you ask questions, participate in discussions, and give us feedback.

As always, if there's something you'd like to talk about or share at this or a future call, please let us know!

Cheers,

Amanda French
