Question on the "single search" affiliation matching plan

I had a query from one of our developers - is there a more precise timeline than "2025" for implementing the faster matching described here: https://ror.org/blog/2025-01-27-faster-affiliation-matching/ - also do you know if what is described there the same as the code OpenAlex has here: https://github.com/ourresearch/openalex-institution-parsing/tree/main/V2 ?

Yes, we should have a beta of the faster matching available for testing by the end of March / beginning of April, so quite soon! See the slides and recording from the Community Update a couple of weeks ago: https://ror.org/events/2025-02-04-annual-meeting-community-update/

It won't be exactly OpenAlex's code, no: it'll be modeled on https://gitlab.com/crossref/labs/marple/-/tree/main/strategies_available/affiliation_single_search but it will probably be adapted somewhat for the ROR API. Does that help?
