Release 1.74 of the Research Organization Registry is now available!
Release 1.74 adds
an 299 records and modifies 1292 records, bringing the total number of active, inactive, and withdrawn
records in ROR to 120,495
. As always, the new data is immediately available in the ROR API and can be downloaded from Zenodo at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6347574.
Note that release 1.74 is
the last one that will include records in version 1 of the ROR schema. As you all doubtless know by now, we'll be
deprecating version 1 of the ROR schema and API in the week of December 8th, and that means no more v1 files in the data dump on Zenodo and no results returned for API queries that specify v1 in the path. Do feel free to reach out to us with any questions about this sunset of v1 at
sup...@ror.org.
If you missed last week's ROR Community Call, you can see the slides and recording at
https://ror.org/events/2025-11-19-ror-community-call/. Highlights of the call:
- We demonstrate a new and improved "single search" matching strategy on the ROR API that is faster and more precise in helping match
messy affiliation strings to ROR IDs. Read the documentation and/or watch the demo.
- ROR API users now have until January 2026 to register a client ID in order to receive the current rate limits.
- Bessem Aamira of CNUDST
reports on consortial activities in Tunisia to register DOIs
and shows the importance of ROR IDs for tracking work
especially in DataCite Commons.
- Joe Muller and Andy Byers demonstrate the use of ROR in the
open source publishing system Janeway.
Also, please do save the dates of February 3-4 for the
ROR
Annual Community Meeting -- more details soon!
Cheers,
Amanda
