Hi all,

The slides and recording from the May 2025 ROR Community Call are now available at https://ror.org/events/2025-05-21-ror-community-call/

Highlights:
  • DataCite is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead ROR technical development -- please share the announcement widely!
  • ROR curators have added over 1000 records for funding organizations in addition to other ongoing curation work
  • Development work on client IDs for the ROR API is complete and will be phased in through December 2025, but no rate limits will be implemented yet
  • Remember that version 1 of the ROR API is slated to be deprecated this year, so beginning in July, API requests with no version in the request will default to v2 instead of v1
  • Notable recent adoptions we've learned of include Atypon and Symplectic Elements as well as R packages
  • SCOAP3's Anne Gentil-Beccot gives us an overview of their initiative to support open access and open science elements of metadata, including ROR
  • Traci Snowden of Elsevier's Mendeley Data and Digital Commons goes over the integration of ROR IDs for both funder identification and author affiliations
As always, if you have topics you'd like to discuss or work you'd like to share at an upcoming call, please let us know!

Cheers,

Amanda
