Hey everyone,
I hope your Easter season has been filled with the beautiful mystery of the resurrection.
Here's a series of videos featuring last weeks images. Mega Spoilers Warning.
This is a usermade cut of Aslan's death. Just note that he dies for the children. Once he's back he uses his paw to put down Lucy's knife. As if to say there had been enough blood spilled already.
This video is of the final showdown with Luke and Darth Vader. Start it at 4:00. Luke overcomes his father but ultimately casts down his weapon. This disarming in the face of death is the act that saves Anakin Skywalker and ultimately redeems his soul.
This video is of the final moments of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. In this showdown Harry has already offered himself freely to die in order to satisfy the demands of Voldemort. He is able to return from the dead and face off with Voldemort. One thing the movie did not explicitly include is that Harry counters Voldemort's death spell with the expeliarmus, a disarming spell. It is taking the power of violence out of death that ultimately conquers the evil wizard.
Let these stories sink into your imagination of the Paschal Mystery.

- April 21st - Early - Romero Runners - The final
training run before the Broad Street Run. We'll meet at Cooper River Park
and run to Philadelphia via the Ben Franklin Bridge. Please let us know if you want to join us.
- April 21st - 5:00pm - Mass and the Monkey - Join us for a vigil Mass offered for the care of God's creation.
- April 27th - 6:30pm - Catholic Worker Potluck - Lauren Puzen will lead us in a discussion we are calling "Weighing Down the Children!" Come and explore how urban children carry the weight of health outcomes for others. As a person of faith, Lauren will explore how her faith drives her work to find policy level approaches to changing systematic injustices such as childhood obesity.
