Welcome to the 2017-2018 Internal Medicine Interest Group! With 39 residency matches in Internal Medicine this past spring, we are eager to share with you many upcoming opportunities to learn more about IM!

Upcoming events:

  • Introduction to Internal Medicine Dinner with Dr. Bhansali, September 26th at 4:30 PM. Further details to come!
  • Primary Care Week
  • Clinical Skills Workshop with Simulations (Bronchoscopy, Colonoscopy, Lumbar Puncture, & Intubation)
  • Internal Medicine Physician Panel
  • Internal Medicine Residency Match Panel

ACP Registration:

Become a member of American College of Physicians (ACP) by registering at www.acponline.org free of charge! As a member you have access to amazing clinical support tools such as DynaMed Plus & published material on research, current clinical recommendations, how to excel during rotations, and the perspectives of other medical students. IMIG highly encourages joining as it is a plus to add to your residency application!

Additionally, with each member that joins, IMIG is able to receive direct funding from the ACP. We want all our events to be as enriching as possible and every bit helps!

Raffle:

We are raffling off 2 clinical pocket books for individuals who have registered as members of ACP! To enter the raffle just send your ACP identification number (given after registering) to im...@rfums.org. We will hand out pins to the first 25 participants and announce the winner of the raffle after our Introductory Meeting.

Board Positions:

We welcome all applicants to take on leadership positions by applying to the executive board. IMIG is looking for individuals to become our M1 Representative, BMS Representative, Club Historian, and Clinic Coordinator.

  • Representatives will act as our ambassadors for their respective classes by promoting upcoming events. Representatives also collaborate with the exec board in coordinating IMIG events that serves the ongoing needs of the student body.
  • Club Historian will document organization events through photography and social media.
  • Clinical Coordinator will organize IMIG’s clinical skills workshops while working alongside Dr. Norman Lee.

Applications will be sent out this following week. Feel free to email with questions!
