Hello Everyone,

Please save the date for the Region 2 community service project on Sunday February 25th from Noon - 3 pm. This will give our chapter the opportunity to mingle with other SNMA members who attend other medical schools in the Chicagoland area and make a difference in our community!

More details on location is soon to come (will definitely be in the Chicagoland area), we just want to make sure that you have the date available. Please see the attached flyer below with more details. If you are interested in this event, please RSVP to leila.p...@my.rfums.org. Please note that we can carpool if transportation is an issue for you! Hope to see you sign up and participate.

Best regards,

Hello SNMA members

The meeting point for Help the Homeless 2018 event on Sunday, February 25th will be at UIC (1853 W Polk St, Chicago IL 60612). We will meet at UIC from Noon to 1:30 to create the packages (ie open bulk containers and put items into individual clear gallon zip-loc bags to distribute). We will be delivering packages from 1:30 to 3pm to people at Pacific Garden Mission (shelter) and then to people under the bridges on lower Wacker drive if we have enough packages left.

Please let Leila Patterson (leila.p...@my.rfums.org) know if you are attending this event by Friday February 16th!

Hello Everyone!

On Sunday February 25th, SNMA is hosting a region-wide community service event in Chicago where we will be putting together care packages and distributing them to people at the Pacific Garden Mission and under the bridges on lower Wacker Drive.

The basic care package costs roughly $5 per person and will consist of the following items:
• 2-3 dry snacks (ie granola bars)
• Fruit (ie apple)
• Water bottle
• 1 pair of thick socks
• 1 pair of gloves
• 1 mini first aid kit (band aids, wipes, etc)
• Clear gallon ziploc bags
Suggestions for other items which can be added include bath soap, wet wipes, tampons/pads for women, deodorant, and more dry snacks.

SNMA is asking for each chapter to reach out and ask for donations or supplies to contribute to the event. If any of you are willing to donate to this wonderful cause either financially or with supplies for the care packages we would greatly appreciate it!
