token authentication?

New to the API, trying to make a helper app for my rescue, and I will need private API access, but the private endpoints all seem to be not working at all. Admin endpoints I think might, but they need some authentication I don't understand. Does this stuff work nowadays? The docs mention the tokens endpoint, but the documentation on it is just missing.

As an example, I want to get access to an animal's health journal from the API. I saw a question on here about it, as if you can, but the documentation isn't really helping me discover any of this, or really understand how to do anything except public access with an API key (which I have).

The documentation includes the login action. That specific section of the docs is here.

The v2 API only supports managing some of the data available in the system. The list of objects is here. Sadly, the medical/journal information has not be created in the API.

We're working on our v5 API, which built using the JSON API specification. I do not have an ETA for when that will be available, but we will be supporting all of the available data in that API.

Yes, that's correct. However, we are starting to work on the endpoints. I don't have any ETA, but we could include you in any future testing if you'd like.
