Hi all,
My rescue currently submits biographical information in a form that is hosted by FormAssembly, then volunteers manually copy that info to create new pet profiles on our RescueGroups page.

To me it seems like there's an opportunity to automate this process by leveraging RG and FormAssembly APIs, but I haven't been able to determine how feasible that will be on the RG side. A few questions:
  1. From an RG API standpoint, Is this currently possible?
  2. Would I need to request access to a special API with write access (maybe the HTTP/JSON API), or is the standard public API key (that I already have) sufficient?
  3. Has anyone else done something similar and would be willing to provide guidance? Or is there any documentation for a use case like this?
I am moderately tech savvy but not a full-blown software engineer so this will be an experiment & test of my technical skills either way.

Thank you!

If you use a third-party automation tool like Make.com, this is totally possible! We've done this using Airtable forms. Basically you set the form to send its data to a webhook, which triggers the automation scenario in Make, which creates a new animal in RescueGroups via the API.
