Description: REMC1 will be upgrading the main firewall

Services Impact: Internet, All REMC1 Services including Voice Service

Comment: At 5PM Eastern Time today Tuesday November 5th REMC1 will be applying an emergency update to patch a critical security issue. This security issue in active use on the internet and needs to be patched immediately. Along with patching the security hole the update will provide continued stability and performance enhancements. During the update REMC1 anticipates only momentary service interruptions measured in seconds as each firewall blade upgrades in turn. These service interruptions will affect all network services including internet, hosted student information systems and voice/phone traffic. Even though REMC1 does not foresee extended noticeable outages please plan accordingly in case of unforeseen issues. Regards, REMC1
