Description: Webfilter outage causing web page loading to fail

Member Impact: All REMC1 Members utilizing REMC1 or MISEN Internet Access

Services Impact: All Internet Services

Comment: Due to a typo in an otherwise routine and frequent web filter update REMC1 experienced a full web filter outage which caused all websites to fail starting at 945 am EST Wednesday May 22nd.
The error was immediately realized and remediation efforts began instantly. At 10 am EST the web filter service was restored to operating condition and at 10:05 EST network routing was stabilized.
We apologize for this unfortunate event and will continue to thoroughly evaluate and examine all configuration entries.
