Good afternoon, 

Thank you for attending our inagural committee meeting for FY 25-26. Sharing a recap below. Let me know if I missed anything!

 

Education Committee FY25-26 Kick Off:

• Committee agreed to establish parameters for the HEB Bin Grant and managing its deployment
• Funds: HEB provided $15,000 for this grant
• Objective: to award grant funds to schools of any type seeking to start, expand or enhance their recycling programs
• Timeline: Start advertising grant as early as possible in September, awards issued in January (assuming HEB approves - there is a chance we need to award in December)
• Committee agreed to plan 7 webinars
• Webinars will occur monthly from September to November, and from January to April. We will broadcast the Summit sessions in May. 
• Objective: to offer insightful presentations or panels with experts that either increase recycling participation or lower contamination. 
• Next Steps:
• Committee will meet September 3^rd at 2pm to discuss Bin Grant
• Alex will provide rough draft  in next few days for the committee to discuss
• Alex will share a proposed Webinar calendar via Google Docs, with a section to capture ideas on next topics and presenters
• Alex will reach out to Quin Pugh to confirm her participation in this committee and on webinar development
• Alex will reach out to Lexus to rekindle conversation with HEB regarding Film webinar
