Richmond Amateur Telecommunications Society News November 17, 2025 Inside this email: Membership Meeting Friday Holiday Party Meetings and Club Contacts Membership Meeting Friday The monthly membership meeting is this Friday evening at 7:30 PM. Our presenter this month is Mike Friedman, W4MAF, presenting about the C4FM/WiresX digital mode. Mike, a broadcast engineer with Virginia Public Media, has a deep passion for amateur radio and frequently combines it with his love of hiking and camping. He's an active participant in POTA (Parks on the Air) and SOTA (Summits on the Air), so don't hesitate to ask him about these activities after the presentation! Whether you're an experienced C4FM user or a newer ham, Mike’s session will provide valuable insights. He'll cover the basics of C4FM, how it connects repeaters, and the concept of "rooms" in the WiresX network. It’s a great opportunity to refresh your knowledge or learn something new! Holiday Party Join us for an evening of holiday cheer at Buzz & Ned's as RATS comes together to celebrate the season and the end of the year! It's the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow radio enthusiasts, swap stories from the year, and enjoy good food and great company. The menu for this event includes pork & chicken BBQ, slaw, potato salad, baked beans, and rolls. Registration is required and can be found here. Tickets are $25 per person and are due by 11:55pm on December 2nd so that we can get the final headcount to Buzz & Ned's. The ticket price goes directly to the holiday party, but during the checkout process you will be given the opportunity to send an end-of-year general donation directly to RATS. Zeffy charges zero processing fees, so we receive 100% of your donations.
