Hello PY Opti Parents,

Many of you and your sailors have expressed interest in competing at the RS Tera North American regatta Aug 14-15 at Richmond YC.  Some of your kids were able to try out the Tera at the EYC regatta and it seemed like they all had a great time.  Some have concerns about lack of experience and time in the boat, but don't let that stop your kids from sailing.  The Tera is a very easy boat to sail and sailors will catch on quickly.  I plan to bring a Tera down to PY the week of July 26th and have it on site at Westpoint until Aug 6th.  I have some time to schedule private lessons with sailors if they would like some extra training.  Just let me know and I'm happy to schedule something with you and your sailor.  There will also be a clinic on Friday August 13th at RYC, a flyer with details is attached.  If you are serious about attending this event I suggest you get registered soon so the regatta host can get a better idea of how many boats to expect.

If you need a charter boat let me know, there are plenty of boats at clubs with fleets of Teras.  Expect to pay about $100 for the weekend per charter boat.  You may need to pick it up from the club you are chartering from and car top it over to the regatta venue.  If you cannot do this let me know and I'll be happy to help figure out logistics.

I plan to coach a group at the event so PY kids can jump in my group if they like. Or maybe Molly will have a coach to send.
