PYSF "Between Season" Update

Hello PYSF Parents and Sailors—

We have two events this week, the Hannig Cup tomorrow and Opti PCCs this weekend at SFYC!  Registration for the Fall Season will be open on September 1st.  Please see the updates below.  I hope to see you soon over at our new facility!!  —Molly

Hannig Cup

This is a great fundraiser for PYSF and the various foundations that Ted Hannig supports.  There will be a "distance" race for the Optis, Cubes and C420s, ending at Westpoint Harbor.  Stanford Rec Sailing will be joining our course as well.  Please meet at “Old PY” to rig your boats and hear the course at 4pm.  The intended start is going to be at 5:30.  This is a very casual “race” with the only requirements being to wear your lifejacket and pinnie!  It is also requested that you wear BLUE.  The coach boats will follow the boats around the course and into Westpoint Harbor.  We intend to take as many dollies with us on the coach boats as possible.  If parents can bring some dollies to Westpoint by 7pm that would be great!  And if you would like to have a cocktail and survey the scene, Sequoia YC will be hosting the festivities before, during and after the race.  *Make sure to say you are with PYSF!  I expect the night to end by 8pm once the boats are derigged at Westpoint Harbor.  If you can make it, come on down and we will get you in a boat!  Sailors I am expecting as of today:

Opti PCCs at SFYC

This weekend SFYC is hosting the Opti Pacific Coast Champs.  We will have Thomas Samuels coaching.  It looks like we will have 8 sailors competing. Please make sure you are registered with USODA by tomorrow.  Here is a link to the NOR.  Thomas will be at SFYC at 4pm to assist with Check-In of our sailors.  We will need two trailers taken there and back.  I see in the chat many are available to tow there and no one listed to tow home.

Fall Sailing 

The Fall Schedule is up on the website.  We intend to have all of our classes, except High School Race Team run out of Westpoint Harbor this season.  All boats will be moved over in the next two weeks (starting with Hannig Cup tomorrow!).  Reminder that registration will open on September 1st for classes.  The season runs from September 11th - November 24th.  There will be an Info Night on Sept 19th from 6:30-8pm.  More info to come, but please mark your calendars!!
