Hi 420 Sailors and Parents—

I hope your summer was awesome, and you were able to get a lot of time on and around the water!  As you’re probably aware, we have a big event quickly approaching.  The C420 Pacific Coast Championship will be at PYSF August 28-29!!  Also another big event, the Sears/Bemis/Smythe Finals just ended yesterday in Marblehead, MA.  Our Bemis sailors will have to give us an update when they return!

Here are the Area G results:
Sears (4 person): Richmond YC 9th
Bemis (2 person): Annabelle/Tatem 11th, Jack/Sawyer 15th
Smythe (1 person): SFYC 5th, SFYC 12th

Some logistical information for the next few weeks:
  • Sailing out of Westpoint can only be done while there is a PYSF class.  No taking boats stored at PY out without a PY coach present (PY’s or privately owned).  To get practice prior to PCCs you have two options: join the practice Aug 21 and/or 22, or organize private lessons with a PY coach.  Both links are found at PYSF under Quick Links.
  • For hosting we will need a number of volunteers.  We potentially will be using both of our venues to aid in distancing, which means we will need double the help!  Looking at a minimum of 10 people each day, ideally more.   Link to volunteer can be found on our homepage under quicklinks.
  • Our SignupGenius Link also has a section for sailors.  We need to know all the kids that want to compete so we can ensure everyone gets paired up and registers for the regatta!  Please put your name down there so we can have a productive practice next weekend, and a solid turnout for the event!!
  • Our Fall Registration will be open Aug 16-20.  Please make sure to complete registration by Friday so that we can plan for the upcoming season.  If you’re curious about what the Fall will look like please take some time to watch the VIDEO of our Info Night.  We will have a similar Info Night for High School Race Team September 7.

I look forward to hearing about your summers and seeing you all in down at PY soon! —Molly
