420 Race Team Fall Update

Hello PY 420 Team sailors and parents—

I hope you are all enjoying a fun summer, and finding ample opportunities to get onto the water. As we begin to plan for the Fall Season I want to share a few updates and things to keep in mind.

First, I’m very excited to let you know that Renee and John will be the head coaches for the 420 team for the fall season. Renee and John have been huge additions to the program and I’m very excited for them to continue to work with you in the Fall. We’ll hear more from them on August 5th at our 420 Team Fall info night about their expectations and goals for the team.

Second, our facilities and assets are for the PY community.  We have partnered with The Club at Westpoint which has afforded us more space to grow, and a larger community to be a part of.  Both fantastic things! For those of you who plan to be a part of the PYSF 420 team this fall, sailing under the PY burgee, boat storage, use of trailers, and of course expert coaching are some of the “sailing” aspects provided to our community members. Private coaching or clinics can be a great way to build on the coaching from PY. Outside coaching should not conflict with scheduled team practices or regattas.  Given demand for boat storage and space constraints, we can only store boats of PYSF sailors. Sailors that opt out of the 420 fall team will need to remove their boats from storage at our Westpoint venue.   

The schedule for the Fall is posted at PYSF.us.  We are very excited for the fall season to begin and sincerely hope to see you all at the 420 info night on August 5th.
