Hello 420 Parents and Sailors—
I wanted to touch base with all of you. We all are so isolated due to the restrictions of class sizes and such that we rarely get a chance to see each other and catch up...
This past week the I420 World Championship was canceled, just a few days before its start date due to the increase in COVID cases in Europe. The event was originally planned for this summer in France but was postponed to October in Italy. MANY hours were spent on planning the trip by all of our parents, the US I420 Class, the coaches and sailors. It is really hard to put so much effort into something and see it go away. One of the aspects of sport is to control the things we can, and to bounce back and refocus when things don’t go as planned. Mason, Timmy, Alec, Dylan, Conner, Ted, Kyra and Carmen I know that was a hard pill to swallow. Know that the hours spent on the water and in the boat park were still put to good use. The knowledge gained will serve you well at the next event.
The next big events are slated for this Fall/Winter in Florida. As with anything these days, you never know what will happen. But let’s move forward assuming these are all a go. The Orange Bowl sailors will need to confirm their charter boats ASAP (Form for C420s was sent to them parents’ WhatsApp chat today). The C420 Midwinters does not have an open registration yet, but please confirm with Udi if you would like to attend.

- Orange Bowl: Dec 26-30
- I420 North Americans: January 16-18
- C420 Midwinters: Feb 12-15
*As a reminder, costs for each family to cover include travel, housing, boat charter and coaching. PYSF coaching is $100/sailor/day ($125/day for non-PYSF sailors that join our group).
