Come as a Scout family, for a day of volunteer service or stay for the weekend!

Here's another great opportunity for Troops!  


Free Camping and Service weekend at Recompence Shore Campground,134 Burnett Rd, Freeport, ME 04032 .

Come help with Spring cleanup to prepare for the Camporee during Scout-o-Rama.  


Arrive Friday evening.  Help get the sites ready for camping; rake leaves and branch removal, Saturday and Sunday mornings.  Come for just one day or stay for a weekend of service and fun!  All Boy Scout Troops invited to camp for the weekend.

Day Camp is a boy's first major experience in the Scouting Program. With their peers, under the guidance of trained and caring adult volunteer leaders. Every Pack and Scout is encouraged to attend day camp this summer. Come along this summer and enjoy all that day camp has to offer: ADVENTURE, GROWTH, AND FUN for all Cub Scouts Trekking the Trail towards becoming a future Boy Scout.

DAY CAMP FEES:

$150 if paid in full by April 29, 2017

$175 after April 29.

2017 Camp Bomazeen Boy Scout Programs
"Catch the Vision, Seize the Moment"

Join us this summer on the Shores of Great Pond for an experience like no other - in the Fabled Lakes Region of Maine.

Immerse yourself and your troop in the lore, culture, and history of the Pine Tree state, Abenaki Native American Tribe, and Chief Bomazeen. Enjoy the pristine waters and thick pine forest of this central Maine camp.

CANOE TREK - Paddle across Great Pond and into the wild for the week. For Scouts 13+ years old. Earn 50 Miler Award, canoeing, orienteering, and cooking merit badges. Volunteers to serve as assistants will be requested.

TRADES TREK - Focusing on life skills. Earn electricity, welding, plumbing, home repairs, and parts of emergency preparedness merit badges.

BUSHCRAFT-THE FRONTIERSMAN METHOD - Life like the frontiersmen of the 1800s fur trade.  For Scouts 13 years old and 1st Class Rank.  

Bushcraft 1, earn Archery, Indian Lore, and Leatherwork.  

Bushcraft 2, For Scouts 14 years old and 1st Class earn Rifle Shooting, Metal work and Basketry.  

Bushcraft 3 for Scouts who have completed Bushcraft 1 or 2 and 1st class Rank, no merit badges earned.  

AQUATICS WEEK - Get wet and stay wet for the week. Earn canoeing, kayaking, swimming, sailing and lifesaving merit badges.

MEGESO (EAGLE) TRAIL - Helping older Scouts along the trail to Eagle, for youth First Class and above. Work on required merit badges for the week.

JUNIOR MAINE GUIDE/MAINE WOODSMEN - Work on requirements to earn the State of Maine Junior Maine Guide or Junior Maine Woodsman Awards. Earn orienteering, fire safety, first aid, and part of backpacking merit badges.

NICHEMIS (MY YOUNGER BROTHER) PROGRAM - Designed for first year Scouts. Work on Tenderfoot, 2nd Class and First Class ranks. PLUS swimming, first aid, and orienteering merit badge requirements. Earn totin' chit and fireman chit cards.

DIGITAL ARTS & TECHNOLOGY:

STEM -Learn from experts in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematic. Work on Cyber Chip, several STEAM related merit badges and the STEM Nova Awards.

Rouse Island Sea Kayak Adventures Weekend
Ready to add an adventure to your week of camp?   Want an awesome 2 night 3 day adventure?  The Rouse Island Adventure works for you!

This 2 night sea kayaking adventure starts when your week of camp ends on Friday. It includes an overnight at our Rouse Island outpost with an introduction to the coast of Maine.  You'll spend Friday night in a cabin after learning the basics of sea kayaking in Panther Pond.  Saturday morning you'll launch your kayak into the Kennebec River and travel to our Rouse Island Outpost.  There you'll explore the island, learn about marine ecosystems and marine signaling.  Sunday you'll finish your adventure surfing your kayak into Popham Beach. 

The Rouse Island adventure is great for whole units or provisional scouts.  It will be led by Pine Tree Council Trekking staff.
