The meeting will be held at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) in Boulder Colorado on October 8-9, 2026. Virtual attendance will be available.  VEXAG is accepting abstracts for oral presentations and posters.  This year we will accept abstracts describing both new Venus-relevant technology (including mission concepts) and Venus science. We especially encourage early-career and student participants to submit abstracts. 

 

A limited number of travel awards will be available for Early Career and Student in-person attendees.  The application is on the VEXAG 2026 meeting website.

Venus session at GSA Connects 2026 Annual Meeting

 

The session “Venus and Earth: Separated at Birth” has been proposed for the Geological Society of America Connects 2026 meeting. This session solicits abstracts on Venus surface geology (e.g. volcanism, tectonism, impact cratering, weathering, etc.), interior evolution, surface-atmosphere interactions, and comparative planetary studies with observational, experimental, or theoretical approaches.

 

GSA Connects is in Denver, Colorado on October 11-14, 2026. The timing and location of VEXAG 2026 will allow the Venus community to easily attend both meetings! We hope that VEXAG attendees will submit abstracts to the GSA Venus session to ensure a well-attended and vibrant session!  GSA Connects has both full meeting and one-day registrations.  The abstract deadline is August 6, 2026.

Venus session at AGU 2026 Annual Meeting

 

The session “Venus: A Brave New World” has been proposed for the American Geophysical Research 2026 meeting. This session will explore the current knowledge about the geology of Venus, and what new upcoming missions will add to our knowledge.

 

AGU is in San Francisco, California on December 7-11, 2026. The abstract deadline is August 5, 2026.

Calling all students! Travel Grants for the 2026 GSA Connects Meeting

 

The Planetary Geology Division (PGD) of the Geological Society of America offers at least 3-4 travel grant(s) in the amount of $500 to help defray costs for PGD student members who are traveling to the 2026 GSA Connects meeting in Denver, CO to present first-authored papers. Student applicants must be first author and presenter of a talk (or poster) that has been submitted to and accepted for presentation at GSA Connects, be a Student Member of both GSA and the Planetary Geology Division, and be registered for the meeting before applying for a travel grant. Preference will be given to abstracts in planetary-themed sessions.
