Hello Venusians!

 

Just a reminder that the deadline to submit abstracts to the VEXAG annual meeting is Tuesday September 23^rd.  As in previous years, VEXAG is looking for abstracts on Venus technology developments and/or mission concepts, as well as science presentations from students and early career researchers.

Also, if you haven’t already, please email Tracy Gregg (tgr...@buffalo.edu) to let her know if you’d be interested in one or both of the field trips being considered for the meeting.

1. Possible half-day field trip Wednesday morning (5 Nov) to Niagara Falls and the Niagara Gorge. Depending on interest and abilities, this could be done entirely on foot, or we could go a bit further afield and also visit Whirlpool State Park to see what happens when glaciers meet isostatic rebound.
2. Full-day trip on Saturday, 8 Nov, exploring Western New York tectonics and ending at a local vineyard (possibly on the Finger Lakes, possibly on the Lake Erie or lake Ontario shores) for a wine tasting.
