Future Woodshop Suggestions

Peter,

You have been asking for this or any suggestions in terms of needs.

Attached is a really rough layout of what I think would be an efficient way to lay out our woodshop needs.  I don't have the ability to estimate square footage so just use this as a guide.

It essentially creates 5 workspaces.  The central focus is the machine room which sits squarely in the middle of the space.  It is surrounded by workbenches and two dedicated rooms on opposite sides of the machine room:  a Finishing Room and a Spray Booth.

The idea is to give people plenty of working space with benches and natural light via windows and skylights/light tunnels.  It also separates the machine room from the bench areas and the other two rooms.  

There is also ample room for the storage of tools and machine jigs.
