to Wood Shop
Hey folks,
I got an update last night on the mortiser ETA. Nate should arrive at the shop between 1-2pm. I'll be around, so between the two of us i imagine we can unload it. If anyone's around then feel free to lend a hand.

Jeff and I cleared the spot by the sink last night. Drills are behind the miter saw, tools from the tool stand moved to wood shop 2 near drying shelves, tool stand put in storage.

One other thing we'll want to do for that spot is set up a little partition to serve as a splash guard. The tool stand that was there was frequently getting splashed, which we won't want to happen to the steel parts of the mortiser. Anyone want to take that on? I actually have a thin 4' sheet of PVC for use as a backsplash, but it needs to be attached to something.

The mortiser is installed and works beautifully. See photo of our first mortise.

I am writing up instructions on how to install and calibrate any one of our 4 chisels and bits. Hope to have a few sessions scheduled over the next week or so to show people how to operate the machine.
