Here's some info to help finalize the purchase of the Mini-Ductor.  I will try to get on the latter half of the Wed 5 pm meeting to discuss this.

The tool costs the same everywhere so iIt's a safe bet to buy directly from the manufacturer.

There are two versions of the Mini-Ductor - The 2 for $500 and the Venom for $600.

We might consider the Venom due to its simpler locking mechanism, better cooling, more ergonomic shape, and fault indicator.

The tool requires a range of insulated coils which are slightly larger than the part to be heated.  Coils eventually wear out or get damaged so we'll need to budget for replacing them as consumables.

I recommend the Essential Coil Kit for $120, containing small diameter coils (3/4" - 1").

Coils can also be purchased individually ($17 - $27).  Long coils can be bent to fit in to tight places.

We can secure the Mini-Ductor by placing it in a lock box, only granting access to people who have been trained.  It would be ideal if we could unlock the box with our RFID keys to prevent sharing access and generate an audit trail.

Thanks Chris, that's good info.
I'm going to hijack this email thread for a second to share the zoom link for tonight's Auto and Bike Shop meeting!

We're also in-person of course, so drop by the shop tonight to attend or hop online.

As a general fyi, we're still looking for an Auto Shop Manager. I had a prospective volunteer looking to jump in, but they wound up being otherwise too busy with other obligations.
