Aloha PNWORCA Paddling Ohana,
Had some unfortunate events that happened to me at the Gorge this past weekend.
First of all, want t0 Mahalo everyone for their Thoughts and Prayers for my Ohana and myself during this event.
Thursday, we had one of the best Home Valley runs with my KIkaha Ohana and I felt really good and had the best run in a long time surfing those bumps and long sleigh rides.
Friday morning, I woke up with extreme pain under my chest and breastbone thinking it was acid reflux or a precursor heart attack, but it was neither as we found out about it after 3 X-rays, 3 Cat Scans, 5 Nitroglycerine pills and a Nitroglycerine Patch.
Doctors at White Salmon, Skyline Hospital had me transferred via Ambulance to PeaceHealth Hospital in Vancouver to do a stress test and check my heart with more tests, treating it as a heart condition issue. None of that happened too.
At PeaceHealth Hospital they did 2 more Cat Scans, drawn blood from me every 1 1/2 hours, gave me Morphine after the Nitroglycerine pills wasn't working. Pain was getting worse and doctors finally did an ultrasound and 3rd Cat Scan to look at my gallbladder then boom my gallbladder was ready to explode and it looked angry according to the surgeons with gall stones building up. They rushed me to the operating room to do an emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder and in the meantime fix a belly button hernia I had for 5 years.
Had that back pain for the longest time and was wondering why my right side on my stomach was protruding outward for at least 4-5 months.
If this gallbladder would've blown up while I was on the water, I wouldn't have no chance of surviving a septic leak in my body,
Had to explain this episode to any of your paddlers that might experience on what I had to go through, before the doctors knew what they were dealing with.
Throughout this whole episode I kept praying for God hands to help me through this. Bren also stayed by side for support and comfort. I love her to death!
Mahalo again for my Ohana and Kikaha Ohana for being there to help breakdown our campsite and bring home our truck and OC-1 home safely. I also appreciate having my Mana on your canoes during the Gorge Race.
I owe you all my Gratitude and Aloha forever,
Uncle Boy
