Aloha e nā hui waʻa!

Congratulations to everyone who competed at the Gorge and Downwind Champs! Macking conditions for you folks! Hoʻomaikaʻi! We look forward to seeing you all at the Stommish grounds for BBOP/ARCCʻs race and the PNW Challenge after that!

All the best to Unko Boy, his ʻohana, and Kikaha. We sending love and positivity your way for a speedy recovery.

Regarding the subject, Seattle Outrigger Canoe Club is stoked to host another year of Da Grind on Saturday, August 29th!

Registration: SOCC is getting good at the computer! Everything digital this year--please check out Da Grind webpage for race packets, registration and waivers. Note, each paddler must have a signed waiver. Each OC-6 crew needs only one registration form.

4-Mile Course: The first of three events, this triangle course is right off Alki and perfect for keiki, novices, OC1/2, V1, surfski and SUP. Same as years prior.

12-Mile Course: Also same course as prior years around Blake Island. We have Wahine, All-Gender, and Kane categories. Requirements for each can be found on the website.

Shirts, merch and raffle: Hey we're raising money for a new canoe to get more folks out there perpetuating this beautiful sport and culture! Help us by pre-ordering some solid merchandise. Don't even need to race to buy this stuff. Pick-up at the race or someone from your club can grab and distribute. Deadline for pre-order is August 1st.

Awards: Surprise! Gonna be cherry.

Trophy: As is tradition, two plaque spaces on the legendary Da Grind trophy go to first place in SPEC Wahine and Kane long course (any age division). Medals to top three finishers in all events/canoe/age divisions.

K den aloha and see you there!
