Kalama Cultural Festival

Once again Zamboanga PC will host the Kalama Cultural Festival on August 23 & 24.  Since there is a race in Seattle that day we will not hold a race in Kalama but we are displaying canoes that weekend, both OC6 and OC1s.  There will be talks around the canoe all weekend with history of the canoes, the parts of the canoes and how to paddle a canoe.

We would like to display old and new canoes and since we only have old canoes we are looking for a new unlimited canoe to display.  We can pick it up from your location and return it.  It will be cared for and will have security all weekend.

We are also looking for clubs/paddlers to participate in the ceremony between the two nations on Saturday, August. 23.  The ceremony should start about 9:00 am so you should be there at 8:00 am.  Also feel free to bring your OC1 and participate in the ceremony.  The waters in Kalama can be quite challenging or can be very calm, so it will be fun.

This is also Zamboanga's fundraiser so we'll be selling t-shirts, other swag and sponsoring a beer garden.   So come down for a beer and relax watching great  entertainment.
