We just had a crew canceled out for the Water Changeout Course for this weekends PNW OC Challenge.

Hi Paul & Uncle Boy,
 
My deep apologies for the delay in response - I've been trying to problem solve some shifts in our crews. Unfortunately we've had some unexpected shifts in our crew due to some family emergencies and illness, and won't be able to run our second water change crew safely. We are having to drop this change out crew and are switching to the Lake Washington Relay course instead, and so will no longer need a chase boat. My deep apologies for the inconvenience this causes!  A lot of unforeseen circumstances... I greatly, greatly appreciate all the work to find and prepare a chase boat for us, and your support of the outrigger community.

Paul - Here is the Escort Boat requirements:
 
Escort Boat Requirements
 
1. You will need a VHF Radio or provide cell phone number to Safety Officials on the day of the race.
 
2. PFD's enough for one Team Captain and 3-4 changeout paddlers
 
3. Tow rope at least 20-30ft long with a small floating buoy attached for paddlers coming into the escort boat
 
4. Room for 1 cooler for team drinks and Gatorade
 
5. Red Flag for paddlers in the water to be raised up.
 
6. Extra gas tank in case of running out of gas.

Thank you for confirming you need a escort boat for your team.

 

I believe Rich Hall has the 2 escort boat driver names that can do it for you ladies which he confirmed with me last night.

 

I'm out of town and can't get to my PC so I'm waiting for Rich to call me back.  I didn't write those guys names down.

 

Unless we can have that 2 guys chime in with their names and email addresses so Sarah and Jaime can choose which person is escorting who and make arrangements to communicate.

We have our annual Lake Washington Race on August 23rd launching out at Sand Point once again.

 

So far I need 1 water changeout escort (might need more) which circles Mercer Island 24 miles - $500.00 flat fee and 1 safety boat $300.00 flat fee for our beach changeout 2,5 mile course (7 laps) in front of Sand Point Beach area.
