2024 Pacific Northwest Challenge - August 10th

Aloha PNW Clubs and Coaches,

 

The Kikaha O Ke Kai Outrigger Canoe Club and the Sand Point Outrigger Canoe Club announces this year's 2024 "Pacific Northwest Challenge" on August 10th at the Sand Point Beach on Lake Washington. 

 

Unfortunately, this is the same day as the Kalama Race which had to changed their date the same day as ours and this race was already scheduled last year because of the Hilo World Sprints.

 

Anyway hopefully we can get support for these 2 races this year and not make this mistake next year.

 

So here goes:

The PNW Challenge has 4 different Courses like last year with the main focus to accommodate all levels of paddlers from the novice/junior paddlers to the extreme paddlers heading to out of state races for iron and water changeout races.

 

Attached is the Race Information and Race Registration Forms for the PNW Challenge.  Soon we will be sending out the Race Insurance Waiver for all paddlers to sign.

 

Also we have 2 canoe clubs that is willing to rent out a available OC6 for this race - Lotus CC and Hood River OCC.  Please let me know if you can rent a OC6 out for them. This rental fee can help with your club gas and logistics payment.

We are looking forward to racing PNW Challenge this coming weekend. 

 

One of our kane is sick and had to drop from our Change Out Roster.  Is there a kane who would like a seat in our crew?  We will be paddling Open Co-ed in our Spec Wa’a.

CROCC will be bringing a Co-ed Water Change out crew this year.  Rich Tobian has already agreed to be our Escort Boat again.  Mahalo for referring him to us last year, he is awesome.

 

I am out of town all this week and will submit our roster and registration when I return on August 3.  I have 1 extra wahine and will be making a final decision then.
