Is there a way to log QSOs on a satellite?

Hi John,
Not specifically.  I suppose you could use the notes field to keep track of the satellite name.

In settings you'll find an option to use the notes field as an ADIF formatted comments field when you export the log - that's how I've done it in the past, but don't work the birds a great deal.

Lately finding the audio recorder on my phone a great option, particularly if driving! Then I log when its safe.

To really do this justice, I think that you'd need to add an actual dedicated field for a satellite name.  The reason is because LOTS recognizes PROP_MODE and SATELLITE_NAME elements in ADIF files, so Hamlog doesn't really export an ADIF that you can send to LOTW and have it record your satellite QSOs properly.

I'd love to see proper satellite support in HamLog.  It's a useful tool for my club, but we're growing in our satellite use, and fixing up the ADIF files by hand is getting old.

I have defined UF1 to be PROP_MODE; UF2 to be SAT_NAME and just for grins UF3 to be BAND_RX.  The exported ADIF makes LOTW very happy.  You don't need to add anything to the field other than what I have shown above because hamlog is smart enough to figure out the length for itself and the rest of the formatting required by ADIF.  These values even pop right up on the submit QSO screen for you to help you remember.

73 es cu on the birds!
