Good Afternoon Advising Partners,

I am reaching out to remind you all of important upcoming financial aid and scholarship deadlines for the 2026-27 academic year. As you work with students in the coming days, please remind them of these important deadlines and timelines, as well as their support mechanisms,  so that they are set up for success for next academic year.

March 1st is PSU's FAFSA and ORSAA priority submission deadline
New and continuing students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the ORSAA by PSU’s priority deadline of March 1 for the 2026-27 academic year. Funding for certain financial aid programs like Tuition Free Degree, Oregon Opportunity Grant, Federal Work Study, and the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is limited, and students are considered on a first-come, first served basis. Completing the FAFSA or ORSAA by March 1 will ensure that students receive priority consideration for all funds that they meet the criteria for.

All PSU students who have not yet completed the 26-27 FAFSA received the attached email reminder last night, for your reference.

For students that may need support in completing their FAFSA, the Financial Wellness Center is offering drop-in FAFSA completion support during the community hour every day next week.

FWC FAFSA Drop-In Hours
February 23rd-27th 12:40–1:30 PM
  • Monday: In-person, FMH 130
  • Tuesday: Virtual
  • Wednesday: In-person, FMH 130
  • Thursday: In-person, FMH 130
  • Friday: Virtual & In-person, FMH 130

March 1st is also PSU's General University Scholarship Application
The deadline for incoming and continuing students to apply for endowed scholarships is also March 1st. These are donor funded opportunities that can be stacked with other PSU financial aid programs, including Tuition Free Degree. This is a great resource for students that are seeking additional gift aid funding to pay for housing, books, or other expenses beyond tuition. Students can apply for scholarships via Scholarship Universe

There is one final ScholarshIp Application Workshop that is being co-hosted by the Financial Wellness Center and the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships on Tuesday, February 24th, during the community hour, 12:40-1:30pm. Students who wish to attend, should register here.

I hope that this information is helpful in equipping you with information and resources to support students.

I appreciate all of your support and partnership!

Take care,

Jennifer
