Hello -
I wanted to connect to make sure you are in the know about our BOLD observation/ volunteer program.
I am not sure if you have any pre-SLP program students that are connecting with you or someone else in your program about how to get observation/ shadowing hours in for any pre-program expectations or exposures?
But .... BOLD has a great opportunity to support this!
Our volunteer/ observation program provides 50% of their time with shadowing for us to support them with experiences and exposures to therapy and for your required application hours and 50% of their time volunteering to support BOLD.

Our workdays are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 6:30pm so they can select time to be at BOLD anytime during these open clinic times.  This can be established repeated times on specific days or moving times to support changes with their schedule. We require a 3-4-month timeline for volunteering.  Typically, our volunteers work 1 hour for every 1 hour they observe. The amount of time and consistency will be determined based on the volunteer's schedule and availability and our patient caseload.

Observation time is spent with a variety of clinicians and can be focused on following some specific children or arranged for a variety of different patients each week.

Volunteer tasks will include a variety of activities depending on the clinic's needs (i.e. putting toys together, filing, laminating), facility needs (cleaning, washing, and laundry), and patient care support (creating activities, and setting up activities for therapist).

Just thought I would share this info with you so you can pass it along as appropriate.  We will be finishing up our current volunteer at the end of this month and just have one set up for summer so have openings.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Kim
