EDG is hosting a Sociopolitical Climate Listening and Sharing Event on Thursday, February 26 from 6:00–8:00 PM Pacific via Zoom. This event was designed in collaboration with Dr. Teresa Roberts, EdD, CCC-SLP, in response to current national initiatives, incidents, crises, The intent is to create space to reflect on how the sociopolitical climate may be impacting us personally, professionally, and collectively.
The event will feature a small panel of speech-language pathologists with diverse clinical backgrounds, cultural identities, and lived experiences. Panelists will share:
How they are processing recent national events
How they advocate within and beyond their workplaces
How they maintain their sense of self and values
Strategies for sustaining themselves and their communities
Following the panel, attendees will be invited to participate in an extended debrief and discussion period (an additional 30 minutes) to share thoughts, feelings, concerns, and strategies in a supportive space.
All SPHR students, faculty, and, community members are welcome to attend.
