Do you like working with young children? Are you looking for a fun on-campus job where you can have evenings and weekends off? Helen Gordon Child Development Center is Portland State University's full-day, infant/toddler and preschool program and academic resource, which serves over 200 children, aged six weeks to five years. We are looking for PSU students to work in our classrooms alongside our lead teachers. Student Classroom Assistants at HGCDC are responsible for assisting the Lead Teachers of the classroom in carrying out daily routines such as supervising small groups of young children in activities such art, construction and reading stories; help provide optimal indoors and outdoors supervision and contribute to maintaining a positive, healthy and safe environment. Student Classroom Assistants work cooperatively with a teaching team and are responsible for learning classroom techniques for appropriate interactions with young children.
