Hi SPHR folks,
If you will be in Portland this July 8-11, please consider attending the Global Improvisation Initiative. Teresa Roberts and I in SPHR are part of an interdisciplinary group that has been exploring how applied improvisation techniques can enhance clinical training for speech-language pathology students. While this conference is focused more broadly, the conference organizer Theresa Dudeck has experience working with SLP students and recommends SPHR students check out these sessions. The conference registration is only $25 for students.
Please see the attached flyers for more info (and I'm copy/pasting the description below as well). Please let me or Teresa know if you have any questions.
Best,
Carolyn

Portland State is located on the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Tumwater, Watlala bands of the Chinook, the Tualatin Kalapuya, and many other indigenous nations of the Columbia River (hayásh-tsəqʷ in the Chinook language). We acknowledge the ancestors of this place and understand that we are here because of the sacrifices forced upon them. By recognizing these communities, we honor their legacy, their lives, and their descendants.
