We are looking for highly qualified candidates with advanced GIS and programming (R and Python) skills, along with project management and presentation (written and oral) experience.
Salaries reflect experience and the level of education completed. All positions require U.S. citizenship.
Census HQ is in the Washington, DC, area and is located next to a subway station. All employees are currently performing full-time
telework while HQ is renovated.
This position offers qualified applicants an opportunity to work on a range of projects, including: producing population estimates for other countries and
studying their subnational demographic characteristics; R and Python programming to improve data acquisition, processing, and analysis; developing methods for high-resolution gridded population mapping; and mapping population globally and in the U.S. International
mapping activities at the Census Bureau provide data and maps needed for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief worldwide.
