Good afternoon everyone! For those of you finishing our program this spring kindly ignore this email. For those of you considering taking summer courses I will be the professor of record for ELP 506 (Self-Directed Learning) and ELP 509 (Internship Practicum). I have attached the syllabi for each of the variable unit classes which contain instructions on how to complete the "learning contract" for your activities in either class.

Starting today, I am available to meet with you via ZOOM to discuss your planned activity for either class and will open the CANVAS site for you to complete your "learning contracts" before the due date of Friday, June 27. To review please consider the course description below that I sent out to many of you last week:

ELP 506, Self-Directed Learning Course Overview:

Graduate Students are often interested in exploring topics that may not be fully included in regular coursework. Or, they may want to expand their understanding of issues, learning populations, or best practices and programs. Independently designing a learning experience is a strategic way to ensure that you have the knowledge, skills, and insights to advance your personal and professional goals. Plus, the credits count toward the PACE Master’s degree and/or Graduate Certificates*.

ELP 509 Internship/Practicum Course Overview:

Students may earn credit for internship and/or practicum learning experiences (volunteer or paid) that relate to their academic, professional, and career goals by registering for ELP 509: PACE Internship/Practicum. Students independently design a professional learning experience that is a strategic way to ensure that you have the knowledge, skills, and insights to advance your personal and professional goals after you finish PACE and earn your M.S. Just like our self-directed learning course, Internship/Practicum credits count toward the PACE Master’s degree and/or Graduate Certificates*. (Important note: students must secure their own internship/practicum site)

Thanks for considering taking one or both of these courses with me this summer!
