Vice Provost, Student Affairs

The Vice Provost, Student Affairs, is responsible for ensuring that OHSU delivers innovative and effective programs that provide students with a safe, supportive, enriching, and stimulating learning environment at all OHSU campuses throughout Oregon that enables students to reach their full potential. Terminal degree in an appropriate and applicable field is required.

 

Function/Duties of Position

  • Provide strategic vision, leadership, resource & budget management, comprehensive strategic planning, and overall supervision, administration and advocacy for co-curricular student experiences in alignment with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the Office of Student Access, Office of Student Life, Student Health & Wellness, the Student Confidential Advocacy Program, Student Financial Counseling, Student Academic Support Services, the Office of Science Education Opportunities, and the Student Food Resource Center.
  • Engage administrative personnel (i.e., student affairs deans, writing center, tutoring support, etc.) across campus to minimize and remove barriers to student success and to enhance experiences that are demonstrated to promote student success.
  • Oversee, in partnership with digital strategies and the student communications workgroup, the writing, editing, and distribution of student focused content including but not limited to websites (i.e. Student Central) and newsletters (i.e. Student News).
  • Manage the development and submission of internal and external reports, assessment and evaluation of student services units and initiates improvements to ensure that student services are effective, innovative, proactive, anticipatory and responsive to student and community requirements and in compliance with federal, regional, and state regulations and reporting requirements
