Dear new and continuing PACE Students,
I'm pleased to announce that ELP 554: Philosophy of Education will be offered in Winter 2026. This 4-credit online course provides an opportunity to develop your own justice-oriented philosophy of education through engagement with critical, decolonial, feminist, queer, and intersectional frameworks.
ELP 554 satisfies Core Theme 2: Critical Foundations, one of the four required professional core courses. It may also serve as an elective in your program of study.
Throughout the 11-week term, you'll examine how power, identity, and knowledge shape educational thought and practice. We'll explore key frameworks, including Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, Queer Pedagogy, Decolonial Approaches, Epistemic Justice, and Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, and connect them to your work as an educator, leader, or advocate for equity.
Course Details:
This course is ideal for graduate students in PACE, LSE, Educational Administration, and CI MA/MS programs, though all graduate students interested in educational philosophy and equity are welcome.
Please see the attached flyer for additional information. If you have questions about the course or how it fits into your program of study, feel free to reach out.
I look forward to exploring these ideas with you this winter.
Best regards,
