Volunteer Opportunity for OSAC Scholarship Selection Committees

The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) in the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) administers statewide scholarships, and is looking for Scholarship Selection Committee members. Committee members read and evaluate scholarship applications and select scholarship awardees. This is a great resume building volunteer opportunity for students interested in Education or Higher Education. 

 

The Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) in the Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) administers statewide scholarships. We are looking for volunteer Scholarship Selection Committee members to read and evaluate scholarship applications and select scholarship awardees. The OSAC Scholarship selection process takes place now through June. Committee members can volunteer for just a few hours or as much time as they have available. We assign scholarship review based on committee member’s availability. Scholarship Selection Committee members must also pass a criminal background check to participate.

 

All Selection Committee Members are responsible for:

·         Reviewing applications and applying scholarship criteria and intent to applicant eligibility

·         Ranking awardees according to donor preferences

·         Agreeing to the Confidentiality, Document Security and Conflict of Interest Policy

·         Immediately destroying, shredding, returning to OSAC, or permanently deleting all selection materials from electronic files when done
