LOCATION: Science Research and Teaching Center (SRTC), Vernier Science Center (VSC)
DURATION: 2/17/2025 to 2/21/2025 from 7:00:00 AM to 3:00:00 PM
PROJECT INFORMATION: The door leading from SRTC to the skybridge will be replaced with an updated design that eliminates the center mullion, enabling a larger passageway into the Vernier Science Center (VSC).
The skybridge connecting VSC to SRTC will receive new metal panels and paint touchups. During this work, a boom lift will periodically be required on Mill St., resulting in the closure of alternating halves of the walkway. Pedestrian traffic between VSC and SRTC will be affected and re-routed during this time due to overhead work.
Access to the skybridge between SRTC and VSC will be closed throughout this project.
PROJECT BENEFITS: The wider pathway from SRTC to VSC will facilitate easier movement of equipment and furniture. The skybridge will receive new architectural finishes as part of the VSC renovation.
IMPACT: No skybridge access from either building for the week.
Pedestrian traffic along SW Mill Street between 10th and 11th will be periodically altered from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM between 2/17 and 2/21.
The north hallway of SRTC at the skybridge will be closed for floor flattening and tile replacement on 2/20, 2/21, and 2/25.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: The skybridge will be closed, restricting access from either building.
Pedestrians will still be able to pass underneath the skybridge.
An alternate route is available through the breezeway on the north side of SRTC.
An accessible route will be open on one half of Mill St. at a time.
Clear signage will be posted, and support personnel will be available to assist pedestrians as needed.
