LOCATION: Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU)

DURATION: 12/22/2025 to 12/23/2025

PROJECT INFORMATION: The Smith Memorial Student Union, Critical Maintenance project, has identified the need to remove materials from the ceiling in Hallway C3. Basement Hallway C3 will be shut down on December 22nd and December 23rd. With this shut-down access is also closed for Room 10 and through traffic will not be open. The Veteran's Resource Center, Suite 18/19, will only be available from the South Vestibule V18.

PROJECT BENEFITS: Hazardous Materials have been identified and will be remove and provide access to Infrastructure for the Maintenance project. The intent is to minimize impacts to users by scheduling this work over the holiday break.

IMPACT: Abatement of Asbestos Containing Materials will be performed by GDSI, a State of Oregon licensed abatement contractor, in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ceilings will be demo'd and this hallway will be closed to through traffic on Monday, December 22nd and 23rd, 2025. Detour signage will be posted during impacts.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Signage posted will outline the closed locations and the rooms impacted.
