LOCATION: Science Research and Teaching Center (SRTC)
DURATION: 1/23/2026 from 5:00:00 AM to 6:00:00 AM
PROJECT INFORMATION: Contractor will be on site to shut down generator backed power panels in SRTC and remove meters.
PROJECT BENEFITS: When completed, we will definitively know the load on the SRTC generator which helps us plan future loads.
IMPACT: Generator backed power will be off. This planned power outage will impact egress and restroom lighting, HVAC controls, fire alarm, and multiple pieces of lab equipment that are on generator backed power. Lab owners have been coordinated with to mitigate impacts. Fire alarm has internal backups to mitigate power outages. The early morning work should mitigate user impacts from lighting and HVAC.
Due to impacts to the fume hood exhaust system, the entire exhaust system will be shut down. Operators of fume hoods are asked to cease experiments, have any stored chemicals properly closed and sealed, and close the fume hood sashes.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Restroom lighting will be off and hallway lighting will be dimmed due to partial outage.
