LOCATION: Campus Public Safety (CPS), Cramer Hall (CH), Karl Miller Center (KMC), Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU), University Services Building (USB)
DURATION: 6/26/2026 to 6/28/2026 from 6:00:00 PM to 2:00:00 AM
PROJECT INFORMATION: Contractors will be working to install decorative hanging lights overhead across Montgomery Plaza. This work requires the use of a motorized lift vehicle on the plaza during evening and overnight hours.
PROJECT BENEFITS: This project will improve overnight lighting on the plaza and create a more welcoming, vibrant outdoor gathering space for the campus community.
IMPACT: Area Closures: At various times throughout the evening, portions of Montgomery Plaza will be cordoned off with cones and caution tape to ensure public safety while the lift is operating overhead.
Noise: Expect minor mechanical noise from the lift operation during the scheduled work hours.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Sidewalks on both sides of Montgomery Plaza are planned to remain open. However, if a sidewalk section must be temporarily closed for safety, the sidewalk on the opposite side will remain open as an alternate path. Visual signage and barriers will be placed to safely direct pedestrians around active work zones.
