LOCATION: Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU)

DURATION: 7/17/2026 from 5:00:00 AM to 7:00:00 PM

PROJECT INFORMATION: The SMSU Re-Roof Project will be replacing the existing roof system

Upcoming construction activities: Crane pick to lift roofing supplies onto the SMSU roof.

PROJECT BENEFITS: The new roofing system will provide improved weather protection, enhance the building's energy efficiency, and prevent future water intrusion, ensuring a more comfortable environment for all students and staff.

IMPACT: See attached diagram showing impacts.

The pedestrian Pathway between SW Montgomery and SW Harrison on the East side of SMSU will be closed from 5:00AM -7:00 PM. The East Main Entrance to the Smith Memorial will be closed. Alternative routing will be posted.

As a precaution the Third Floor Mezzanine and Second Floor Mezzanine located directly below the loading zone will remain closed during lift operations. See plans for impacted areas.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: - Entrances: The East Main entrance will be closed.

- ADA Entrance: The SMSU North Entrance is the nearest ADA entrance.

- Alternative Routes: If a specific pathway or entrance is temporarily closed, directional signage will be posted to the nearest alternative
